1. Q. Do our products have latex in them? A. No, most of our products are pressure sensitive labels. However, they all contain adhesives. Adhesives, to a large extent, are composed of natural or synthetic latex. Our raw material label suppliers have assured us that no product is manufactured with natural rubber latex or contains dry natural rubber. All rubber polymers used by our vendors are synthetic rubbers and all non-rubber latex adhesives are acrylic emulsions.
2. Q. Do our products require Material Safety Data Sheets? A. No. Since none of our products currently meet state or federal criteria for hazardous materials they should not be considered hazardous products. In view of this, no Material Safety Data Sheets (OSHA Form #20) are available.
3. Q. Are TimeMed labels approved by the FDA for application to blood bags? A. Yes. The Food and Drug Admininstration (FDA) requires adhesive used on blood bags to comply with FDA21 CFR 175.105 concerning "Indirect Food Contact."
4. Q. What is the Warranty on TimeMed labels? A. TimeMed Labeling Systems, Inc. products are warranted to be free from defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of 60 days from date of shipment.
5. Q. Does TimeMed actively participate in recycling? A. Yes. TimeMed makes every effort to be a responsible user and handler of all resources. TimeMed has a comprehensive recycling program that includes the recycling of corrugated, white papers, colored papers, plastic packaging, metals products into reusable products. Ethical treatment of the environment and responsible behavior to our neighbors is a top priority at TimeMed.
6. Q. What are the specifications of Time® Tape? A. Time® Tape is a premium grade flatback printable latex impregnated paper tape with solvent based removable adhesive. Tape should be stored in its original packaging in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and should be used within 12 months of date of shipment. Surfaces to which tape is applied should be clean, dry and free of grease, oil or other contaminants.
7. Q. Do I need to be a registered user of the TimeMed website to access promotional programs? A. Yes - Get on-line and register at www.TimeMed.com
8. Q. Can I use my current scanner for 2D barcode application? A. Only if it has been programmed to receive a 2D bar code symbology.
9. Q. Can all printers print 2D bar codes? A. Depending on the year the printer was manufactured the firmware may be flashed with 2D symbology. Please check with your local printer manufacturer for details.
10. Q. What is the quiet zone? A. The white space at the front and back of the bar code are called the "quiet zone". A quiet zone is needed for the scanner to focus on reading the bar code properly. The quiet zone should be at least one-eighth inch from any other printing. When in doubt go with a quiet zone that is wider than required.
